Marshall, originally from Iran, came to Cape Town from Botswana to study architecture. Changing his course to mechanical engineering for a further 3 years, he then realised his ultimate calling – to become a revolutionary beverage curator!

Marshall found his passion in flavours, and so the hospitality industry became his new playground.

Marshall often takes off to the outdoors – camping and foraging for the perfect combinations, aromas and flavours. He has truly dedicated his life to curating the perfect sip.

His career highlights include House of Machines, where he worked as the head bartender for 3 years.

He then partnered up with Kurt Schlechter and opened the first experiential cocktail kitchen and brandy bar in the Cape – the Cause & Effect Bar. Enjoying a bottle of whiskey in Kurt’s dining room, the two of them created the first of many incredibly unique menus for this revolutionary cocktail bar – shortly joined by all their fellow bartenders.

What’s next for Marshall?

Marshall is now the Master Brewer and Beverage Curator at Coco Safar in the Sea Point Artem Centre – where he will be opening a new bar extension called ‘Transit’.

Within the industry, Marshall is known most highly for his Classic Cocktails.

And that is where Triple Three Gin comes in.

If he’s not busy brewing and entertaining, you will find him with a bottle of Triple Three Gin, looking for inspiration for his next greatest creation. He’s actually given us the heads up on his brand new menu of JUST CLASSICS, launching on the 13th of June – so watch this space…

We cannot wait to see how he incorporates this love for old classics, modern techniques and Triple Three Gin as he launches his new bar in Sea Point (September is the target date for the launch).

Transit – will offer a brand new kind of bar concept to Cape Town – transporting its visitors across the globe, starting in Japan.
