Whether it’s a post work refresher, a house party impresser or a first date tester 😉 , these thirst-quenching Summer Gin Cocktail Recipes will do the trick.
Our Top Five Summer Gin Cocktails:
1) The Pomegranate Bomb
INGREDIENTS
50ml Just Juniper Berry gin * Crushed ice * 1 part champagne/ sweet sparkling wine * 2 parts Pura Soda – Pomegranate * Pomegranates * Slice of lemon * A sprig of mint
METHOD
Fill shaker with 1 part champagne/ sparkling sweet wine and 2 parts Pura Soda Pomegranate. Add your gin, pomegranate bits and crushed ice to the shaker and shake well. Strain into a wide rimmed glass. Add a sprig of mint and a slice of lemon to serve.
2) Cucumber Mint Fizz
INGREDIENTS
50ml African Botanicals Gin * Fresh cucumber * 25ml soda water * 5 Fresh mint leaves * Crushed Ice
METHOD
Fill the shaker with ice, gin and crushed mint leaves. Shake until chilled. Strain into a glass with sliced cucumber and top up with soda. Garnish the cocktail with a sprig of mint.
3) A Grand Thyme
INGREDIENTS
50ml Citrus Infusion gin * Crushed ice * Granadilla pulp * Sanpellegrino Burnt Orange (can buy from Woolies) * Tonic water * A sprig of thyme
METHOD
Fill shaker with your gin, crushed ice and one part tonic water, 1 part granadilla pulp. Shake well and strain into a wide rim glass. Then watch your gin cocktail turn to blood orange as you top up with your Sanpellegrino. Add a sprig of thyme to serve.
4) Leafy Goodness
INGREDIENTS
50ml African Botanicals gin * Crushed ice * Pura Soda Cucumber & Lime * Cucumber * Lime * A sprig of thyme
METHOD
Fill shaker with your can of Pura Soda Cucumber & Lime and add your gin and crushed ice to the shaker, shake well. Strain into a wide rimmed glass. Add a sprig of thyme and a few slices of lime and cucumber to serve.
5) The Grapefruit Sour
INGREDIENTS
50ml Citrus Infusion gin * 2 large grapefruits * 1 large lemon & lemon juice * 1/2 ounce simple syrup * Optional (Woolies Ruby Grapefruit) * Lemon rind roses (optional decor)
METHOD
Fill shaker with freshly squeezed grapefruit juice and lemon juice together with your Ruby Grapefruit from Woolies. Add your gin and simple syrup to the shaker and shake well. Strain into either a martini or whiskey glass. Add a lemon rind folded rose to a cocktail skewer and serve.
