It all started more than 333 years ago in the Cape Winelands, Cape Town’s satellite city Stellenbosch, South Africa. The historic Blaauwklippen Wine Estate had been around for years before our first gin saw its light. Our Master Distiller, Rolf Zeitvogel, perfected distilling single-ingredient spirits until he had the idea of unifying the rich resources in to one spirit. Surrounded by century old historic buildings from one of the first farms in South Africa, in an old tractor shed our state of the art distillery found its place. Like nowhere else in the world, one can find thousands of wild botanicals growing all over and sun-ripened fruit just next door. Take a five-minute walk and find a gin recipe growing to the left and right of you. Translating these flavours into gin means conserving and sharing this experience.
