Gin Masterclass on Sustainability | Homemakers Expo
So this year, we attended the 2018 Homemakers Expo in Cape Town.
We were given the honour by the Tuis | Home Theatre to host a Gin Masterclass every day in their stunning Home Demo Theatre. Here we ran a Masterclass on all things Gin & Sustainability.

But we did not host this alone. Our main man, Florian, ran the masterclass along side a long time #triplethreegin friend – Peter Lebese, aka. @theegintleman !!
Peter is a beverage consultant who works on menu and cocktail designs. He also implements bar programs for new venues and cocktail developments for various liquor brands. But you may recognise him from his previous affiliation with The Gin Bar in Cape Town.

The Masterclass involved numerous bottles of our infused gin – with piles of deliciously fragrant and fresh garnish ingredients. Not to mention the few miniature gin bottles that went missing in the crowd ;)!!
We touched on sustainability in the kitchen – when it comes to infusing, garnishing and complementing your evening gin.
Garnish ideas on using leftover lemongrass from your Thai dinner, orange peels and rind from your fruit breakfast bowl and mint leaves from your home grown veggie garden were just the start to this ever-growing conversation.
We even experimented with some Gin & Tonic marmalade from The Gin Box SA in a breakfast gin cocktail recipe. When Florian and Peter are together, the ideas are endless..
