Very Berry Smash

This craft gin cocktail will kick start your Christmas festivities with a strong burst of colour and refreshing flavour. All complimenting its Just Juniper Berry gin foundation!

 

Ingredients
  • 50ml Just Juniper Berry
  • Crushed ice
  • Soda water
  • Tonic water
  • Fresh seasonal berries
  • A sprig of rosemary

 

Method

Crush a handful of mixed berries into a paste. Add berry paste into a shaker, together with your crushed ice, one part tonic, one part soda and your gin. Shake well and strain into a large glass. Garnish the top with a few fresh berries and a sprig of rosemary. Serve ice cold.

A Cherry Christmas

This Cherry Merry Christmas cocktail is an elegant festive drink to serve while hosting your beloved friends and family during this holiday season. Showing off our Just Juniper Berry Gin!

 

Ingredients
  • 50ml Just Juniper Berry
  • Crushed ice
  • Tonic Water
  • Fresh Cherries
  • Rose Water (optional)
  • A dash of Berry Grenadine
  • A sprig of mint

 

Method

Fill shaker with tonic water,  rushed ice and your gin. Then add a splash of rose water and berry grenadine to add colour and flavour. Shake well and strain into a glass. Garnish with a few cherries and a sprig of fresh mint.

Berry Romantic

This red hot craft gin cocktail is a Valentine’s Day favourite. The strawberries complimenting the pure taste of our Just Juniper Berry Gin!

 

Ingredients
  • 50ml Just Juniper Berry
  • Crushed ice
  • Barker & Quin Hibiscus Tonic
  • Fresh Strawberries
  • Strawberry Jam/Syrup
  • Lemon
  • Rose petals
Method

Add strawberry jam to a pan with water and boil into a syrup. Add this together with the tonic, gin and crushed ice to the shaker. Shake well and strain into a wide glass. Garnish with a few fresh strawberries and loose rose petals or edible flowers.

Be My Valentine

This pink craft gin cocktail is a Valentine’s Day favourite. The raspberries complimenting the pure taste of our Just Juniper Berry Gin!  

 

Ingredients
  • 50ml Just Juniper Berry
  • Crushed ice
  • Tonic Water
  • Fresh Raspberries
  • Woolies ‘Cold Pressed Raspberry Juice’
  • Lemon Rind
  • A sprig of Mint
Method

Add 2 part tonic water and 1 part raspberry juice to the shaker, together with the crushed ice and gin. Shake well and strain into a wide glass. Garnish with a few crushed raspberries, lemon rind and a sprig of mint.

Praise the Pomegranate

This bright red and bursting craft gin cocktail is very refreshing. The fresh pomegranates complimenting the pure taste of our Just Juniper Berry Gin!

Method

Add the tonic, gin and crushed ice to the shaker. Then burst a few pomegranate pips just above the shaker, so the red juice falls into the shaker below, adding colour. Shake well and strain into a tall glass. Garnish with a few fresh pomegranate pips and a sprig of fresh rosemary.

Great Granadilla

This is a fast, easy and afforable gin cocktail that celebrates the pure flavours of our African Botanicals Gin – paired with a fresh burst of granadilla!!

 

Ingredients
  • 50ml African Botanicals
  • Crushed ice
  • Indian tonic water
  • Granadilla pulp
  • Lemon
  • A sprig of mint

 

Method

Fill the shaker with your tonic, gin and crushed ice. Then add one table spoon of granadilla pulp. Shake well. Place a thin layer of granadilla pulp to line the bottom of your glass. Then strain the shaker’s contents into the glass. Finish with a sprig of mint and a few slices of lemon to serve.

  • 50ml Citrus Infusion Gin
  • Strawberry ice
  • Tonic water
  • Edible flowers to garnish
  • A sprig of rosemary
  • Orange slice (optional)

 

Method

Drop strawberry pieces into your ice tray, topped up with water and freeze over night. Fill shaker with gin and tonic water and strain into your glass. Add your strawberry ice to the G&T and garnish with a sprig of rosemary and edible flowers (you can find these at Pick ‘n Pay).

This craft gin cocktail is inspired by a walk through the Cape botanicals gardens with our perfectly fitted African Botanicals Gin. An easy and fresh recipe.

  • 50ml African Botanicals Gin
  • Strawberry ice
  • Fever Tree Tonic
  • Edible flowers to garnish
  • A sprig of mint
  • Pink tonic (optional)

 

Method

Ingredients
  • 50ml Just Juniper Berry
  • Crushed ice
  • Soda Water
  • Fresh Blackberries
  • Simple Syrup
  • A sprig of rosemary

 

Method

Add roughly five smashed blackberries to the base of your chosen glass. Then add your ice cubes. Fill a shaker with soda water,  simple syrup and your gin. Shake well and use to top off your glass. Garnish the top with a few fresh blackberries and a sprig of rosemary.

Fill shaker with 1 part champagne/ ;sparkling sweet wine’ and 2 parts Pura Soda Pomegranate. Add your gin, pomegranate bits and crushed ice to the shaker and shake well. Strain into a wide rimmed glass. Add a sprig of mint and a slice of lemon to serve.

Ingredients
  • 50ml Just Juniper Berry
  • Crushed ice
  • Fresh Lavender buds
  • Lemon
  • Tonic water
  • (Optional) Blue & Red food colouring

 

Method

Boil a quarter cup of water and stir in lavender buds, one drop of blue food colouring & one drop of red food colouring. Wait to cool and add to a shaker. Top up shaker with tonic water,  crushed ice and your #triplethreegin. Strain into a glass. Garnish with lavender and fresh lemon.

Pineapple Smash

This gin cocktail enhances the citrus flavours of our Citrus Infusion Gin – boasting strong flavours of fresh and light summer pineapples.

  • 50ml Citrus Infusion Gin
  • Crushed ice
  • Dehydrated pineapple pieces
  • Fresh pineapple juice
  • A dash of cinnamon
  • Tonic water
  • Ginger ale
  • A sprig of mint

 

Method

Fill shaker with 1 part tonic water, 1 part ginger ale and a splash of fresh pineapple juice. Add your gin, a dash of cinnamon and crushed ice to the shaker and shake well. Strain into either a martini or whiskey glass. Add dehydrated pineapple and a sprig of mint to serve.

  • 50ml Citrus Infusion Gin
  • Crushed ice
  • Granadilla pulp
  • Sanpellegrino Blood Orange
  • Tonic water
  • A sprig of thyme

 

Method

Fill shaker with your gin, crushed ice and one part tonic water, 1 part granadilla pulp. Shake well and strain into a wide rim glass. Then watch your gin cocktail turn to blood orange as you top up with your Sanpellegrino. Add a sprig of thyme to serve.

The Grapefruit Sour

Ingredients
  • 1 Part Vodca
  • 2 Parts Pear Schnapps
  • 4 Parts fresh apple juice
  • A dash of cocktail syrup
  • Ice cubes

 

Method

Add all the ingredients above into a shaker and mix well. Strain the mixture into a sherry, tumblr or martini glass. Compliment with a few slices of fresh pear.

Cucumber Mint Fizz

  • Fresh cucumber
  • 25ml soda water
  • 5 Fresh mint leaves
  • Crushed Ice

 

Method

Fill Shaker with ice, gin and crushed mint leaves. Shake until chilled. Strain into a glass with sliced cucumber, top up with soda and garnish with a sprig of mint.

The Peppered Berry

Sometimes less is more with this sophisticated black pepper and strawberry mix, perfectly balanced with our Just Juniper Berry gin.

  • 50ml Just Juniper Berry Gin
  • Fresh strawberries
  • 25ml strawberry juice
  • Whole black pepper corns
  • A sprig of mint
  • Tonic Water

 

Method

Fill Shaker with ice, tonic, gin and strawberry juice. Shake until chilled. Strain into a glass with finely cut strawberries and sprinkle with peppercorns and garnish with a sprig of mint.

The Milk Tart

The liquid version of a South African sweet classic. It becomes even tastier with gin!

Ingredients
  • 50ml Just Juniper Berry Gin
  • 37,5ml Condensed Milk
  • 25ml Coconut Milk
  • 12,5ml Lemon juice
  • Ice Cubes
  • Ground Cinnamon, Lemon rind

 

Method

Fill Shaker with ice and ingredients. Shake until chilled. Strain into a glass, sprinkle with oils from the lemon zest and garnish the middle with ground cinnamon.

The Gin Mule

When used in drinks, gin’s botanicals have the ability to cut through the sweetness of liqueurs and sugar.
 

Ingredients
  • 50ml African Botanicals Gin
  • 25ml Simple Syrup
  • 35ml Lime Juice
  • Ice Cubes
  • Ginger Beer
  • Mint leaves

 

Method

Muddle the lime juice, syrup and mint in a mixing glass. Add the gin, ice and shake.Strain into a glass filled with ice, top with the ginger beer and garnish.

Raspberry & Basil Smash

The evolution of a modern bar classic.

 

Ingredients
  • 50ml Just Juniper Berry Gin
  • 25ml fresh lemon juice
  • 15ml sugar syrup
  • One Table Spoon frozen raspberries
  • One hand full of basil

 

Method

Place basil, some raspberry and lemon juice into a cocktail shaker. Gently muddle the lemon, raspberries and basil “smashing” the ingredients. Add syrup, gin and top up with ice. Shake. Double strain into an ice-filled glass. Garnish.

The Negroni

One of many tales goes that Count Camillo Negroni concocted this classic by asking the bartender, Fosco Scarselli in a bar in Venice, Italy to strengthen his favourite cocktail, the Americano, by adding gin rather than the normal soda water.
